Editorial Policy: How We Research and Review
The standards we follow when researching VisiVra and writing about eye health.
Health content can influence real decisions, so we hold ourselves to clear standards. This page explains how we research, write, review and update the content on this site.
Who writes our content
Content is researched and written by Sharon Sam, BSc, Biochemist. Sharon Sam has a background in Biochemistry and experience researching dietary supplements and their ingredients. Her reviews focus on ingredient quality, formulation, safety considerations, and scientific evidence related to health.
Our sources
We prioritise sources in this order:
- Government and public health bodies: the National Eye Institute, NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, CDC, FDA and European Food Safety Authority.
- Professional organisations: such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
- Peer-reviewed research: large randomised controlled trials and systematic reviews or meta-analyses are given more weight than small or animal studies.
- Clinical databases: such as Memorial Sloan Kettering’s integrative medicine resource.
- Seller materials: used only for product facts such as price, ingredients and policies, and always identified as the seller’s claims.
We open and read every source we cite. We link to sources at the bottom of each page so you can check them yourself.
How we describe evidence
- We distinguish between research on individual ingredients and research on VisiVra itself (none has been published).
- We use careful language such as “may support” and “has been studied for”, and we never claim a supplement diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents disease.
- We note when evidence is weak, mixed, early or limited to particular groups such as people with AMD.
- We highlight safety issues and drug interactions prominently.
- When dosing information is not verified, we tell readers to follow the label.
Reviews and testimonials
We do not invent reviews, star ratings, customer counts or “verified purchase” badges. We publish customer experiences only when they are real and we have permission. Until then, our review pages show clearly marked placeholders.
Affiliate independence
We earn commissions through paid links (see our affiliate disclosure). Commercial considerations do not determine our conclusions. The seller does not review or approve our content before publication.
Updates and corrections
We review key pages regularly and whenever prices, policies or significant research change. Each page shows the date it was last updated. If you find an error, email contact@vision-visivra.com. We will investigate and correct verified errors promptly, and note significant corrections on the page.
Conflicting information
When sources disagree, for example if a seller’s page shows different figures in different places, we check with the seller where possible and explain the discrepancy to readers rather than picking the most favourable number.
